    Member Application and Guidelines

Becoming a member of the BucksMont Business Friends required several first steps. One must first be invited to a meeting by an existing member. After attending one meeting, you need to express your interest in joining. There is no formal application form, but we would ask that you have read through the general guidelines expressed below of how are group works and address any questions at that meeting or with the member who invited you.

With that interest expressed, at the next meeting, attending members will discuss your application. Those discussions will include the postive implications to the group of your business services and the discussion of potential conflicts of those services with existing membership.

    General Membership Guidelines and Operations

    • Only one member by business category will be allowed and no member can hold more then one category. No multi-level marketing representatives will be allowed to join with the purpose of recruiting other members. Members may not be a member of another networking group that has the purpose of generating referrals.
    • Attendance is not required, however highly encouraged for the good of the group and your involvement. Missing 3 consecutive meetings will initiate a phone call to you and a member missing 4 consecutive meetings will be subject to a vote by the group for removal. Members may have substitutes from their staff attend in their place as long as they work in the same business category.
    • The group requires that all members that are required by law to have licenses, insurance or related compliance requirements maintain those items in good standing.
    • Dues are billed monthly in advance based on the number of weeks in that month and the current meal cost. Members pay for their lunch whether present or absent.
    • Each meeting is run by a volunteer along established guidelines. At each meeting, each member has two opportunities to speak, first a pitch about their services designed to improve other members understanding and promote referrals and second to express referrals to other members. At each meeting two members have the opportunity to speak to the group based on a rotating speaker schedule.
    • Other educational opportunities will be presented by the group as well as opportunities for involvement with outside community and business events hosted by the group or an affiliated community or business organization.
